We are running out of top soil, there are to many environmental problems to count and there is a serious lack of nutrition left in the soil. Worms may be the answer that we have been looking for. That's right I said worms, it seems that scientists have been testing this theory in a laboratory and have now approved of this new technique to composting.
A worm compost method to be more specific. Some of you may think that worm composting is not such a good idea. But before you dismiss the concept of worms helping to save the environment, open your mind and hear some of the advantages of worm composting.
Worm composting is becoming very popular. Red wigglers are the variety most used for composting methods. They will ingest a variety of waste products and discard worm castings. A really nice way of saying worm poop. The worm castings are an organic fertilizer that can be spread around any plant for fantastic growth.
In some areas, you need not look for worms. You only have to get a jar and focus your eyes while walking in the garden. They are usually found in dark moist areas, look in areas with leaf cover. Oregano stems are a good way to attract worms.
Worms like a moist environment but not to much water, think of a damp rung out sponge. Also they do not like sunlight so keep them in a cool dark place. They will work tirelessly 24 hours a day to provide you with fresh worm castings. Your garden will love you for it.
